Weak gasoline demand reflects struggling economy - August 20, 2010
At 9.3 million barrels a day, U.S. gasoline deliveries (a measure of demand) fell slightly (0.03 percent) last month compared with July 2009, continuing weak deliveries for the first half of the year and mirroring the faltering U.S. economy.

Fuel ethanol is a renewable fuel made from grain or other biomass sources that is blended into motor gasoline. Ethanol blending into gasoline in the United States has been rising strongly since 2002, initially driven by action taken in several States to ban the use of methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), a competing gasoline additive.
